Jomarie and Edmund: Victorian-inspired Wedding Cord

Mr. Bong of Ilocos Norte contacted us to order a wedding cord, which will serve as his gift to his friends, Jomarie and Edmund. The couple tied the knot last December 28, 2013 with a Victorian-themed wedding. Here's what I created for the couple:

Inspiration Nation: Christmas Wedding Theme

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and not only because of the gifts, but also because of the beautiful and elaborate decors. It's one of the best holiday to center your big day around with colors of festive red and elegant green. Here's some ideas you might like to stage that wonderful Christmas wedding theme.

Here are some tips in order to get that festive feel of Christmas:
  • Ask your emcee to dress like Santa Claus.
  • If your emcee did not agree, ask someone else to dress like Santa Claus and have him distribute favours.
  • Serve hot beverages, such as coffee, chocolate or tea at the reception to keep guests cozy.
  • Check if the venue will be decorated with Christmas decors. If not, decorate it with festive ornaments.
  • Instead of a gift table, have guests place gifts under a Christmas tree.
  • Have Christmas carolers provide music during cocktail hour.
One of the biggest perks of being a Christmas bride is that if you're getting married in a church, it will already be decked out in all its splendor, so you don't have to order as many flowers to decorate the church. This may also be the case with your reception venue so it will at least help lower the cost of your wedding. Just make sure your photographers will capture everything. Above all, the holiday spirit of togetherness magnifies what's already supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. :)

Inspiration Nation: Katniss Everdeen's Pseudo-Wedding Dress on Catching Fire

Having a fairy tale-themed wedding? Why not be inspired by the wedding gown worn by Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) on the latest movie installment of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire.

If you haven't read the books, that "pseudo-wedding dress" thing on the title must have threw you off but really, it's not that bad. See, in Catching Fire, we meet Katniss and her fellow District 12 tribute Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) just after they've become the first dual winners of The Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta are pretending to be engaged for the sake of getting President Snow (Donald Sutherland) to stop breathing down their neck. What they don't expect is to be called back into the arena as part of the Quarter Quell, a Hunger Games staged entirely with former champions in the competition. When it's time for Katniss to do her big TV interview with Caesar (Stanley Tucci), she's wearing a white dress that's supposedly her wedding gown. :)

October Inspiration Board: Pink and Turquoise Wedding

Pink and Turquoise is a color combination that never fails to stun simply because turquoise is a great equalizer to a rather bold (and sometimes overdone) pink wedding color. It is a fabulous color combination for a garden, beach or formal wedding.

Inspiration Nation: Luxurious 1920's Gatsby Wedding Theme

When a couple decided to host a wedding with a theme like Gatsby, you'll immediately think that that couple is bold and daring for a Gatsby-themed wedding has many qualities. It is luxurious; elegant; glamorous; clean and sleek; grandeur; rich and bold; fabulous; vintage; mainly gold, white and black; high quality feathers; fascinators made of crystals, diamonds, pearls and feathers; gowns with simple yet sexy silhuette among other. Below are some of the images I gathered from google search. If you haven't read Gatsby, you can watch the film with Leonardo DiCaprio as the main protagonist to get more inspiration. Happy preps! :)

Inspiration Nation: Alice In Wonderland Wedding Theme

There are two words that can best describe an Alice in Wonderland wedding theme – fun and whimsical. When done correctly, the host will make all their guests remember their childhood fun memories. It’s going to be a sure hit and people will talk about their wedding for ages.

Owing to the famous story of a girl who transported into a magical world full of mystery, there’s a vast resource of inspiration one can find on the internet. Let’s take a look at some of them:

I can picture the bride wearing a simple yet elegant dress with her groom in tux. The aisle is decorated with white blossoms in thin twigs. She’s holding a whimsical white bouquet and marching on a white gorgeous boots.

They will be holding a whimsical reception after the ceremony. There you may find a towering mini cakes in tea cups; tables with clock, mushrooms and cards arranged in a fun, quirky way; colorful and delicious desserts; sumptuous dishes to fill you up; and colorful drinks to celebrate the newly wed.

To end the day, the entourage may throw colorful confetti and powder bombs instead of fireworks. Lovely, isn’t it?
