Supplier’s Rating: Sophia’s Chocolat

Dear Online Diary,

I was glad (and relieved) to have found Sophia’s Chocolat while browsing multiply.com. We were a bit stressed during the homestretch of our wedding preps because we haven’t found the right giveaways for our PS and entourage.

Sophia’s belgian chocolates are not too sweet nor bitter. Our parents love the chocolates (as much as we love them) when we brought some for them to taste test. Sophia’s offers different kinds of packaging and molds on reasonable prices. It was a breeze negotiating with Sir Alex and Ms. Michelle, the husband-and-wife tandem behind Sophia’s Chocolat.

In the end, we were able to achieve the kind of giveaways that we want for our PS and entourage-- something that would serve as a reminder of how sweet our Big day was and something related to our theme (we gave them a separate gift – a small silver vase with seeds that served as their place card at the reception).

Bridal Fair Escapade: Kasalan 2010: Ikalimang Yugto

Dear Online Diary,

Kasalan 2010 is definitely the last bridal fair that we attended before the Big day but it proved to be one of the most memorable bridal fairs.

For one, the fair served as the common ground where supposed enemies can still share funny stories and heartfelt laughter. Simply put it, H2B and I met Ate Eva, Sohrab’s assistant. If you’re a follower of my blog, you know by now that I had a change of heart (for a good reason). I felt a sting on my chest when I saw his booth but the warm smile and hugs given by Ate Eva are just what I needed to set aside the pain (for a little while) and exchange exciting stories and updates about our upcoming wedding. An insider asked me just now, what if Sohrab was manning their booth instead of Ate Eva? Hmm… Well, it might be a whole different story. You see, Ate Eva is such a doll. Sohrab is… well. Never mind. *rolleyes* All I can tell you right now is that you’ll be interested to know what happened between me and Sohrab. You’ll read (and see) all about it after the wedding.



So much for that… let’s talk about a bunch of beautiful and more important matters. We passed by Atty. Raymond Fortun’s booth. Yes, the lawyer-con-photographer joined his first ever bridal fair and offered a cool badge for those who booked him onsite. He'll cover our wedding on Saturday. Unfortunately, he was at a wedding when we visited his booth but we took a couple of shots before we got this:

We also dropped by the booth of our florist, Rocky Blooms Flowershop. As always, the animated husband-and-wife tandem of Ms. Rhona and Kuya Marlon did not fail to brighten our day with their witty personalities. Although we're done with floral detailing, we had fun chatting with them and W@W sis Dee and her H2B, Jayson (they booked Rocky Blooms, too).

Overall, it’s such a great fair to remember. Thanks to our ϋver lovely suppliers. Speaking of lovely suppliers, I’ll share the chocolates that we ordered from Sophia’s Chocolat tomorrow.

An Early Wedding Present

Dear Online Diary,

It’s a busy Saturday for both H2B and I. What can we expect? It’s just a week before our Big Day *kilig*.

People say the amount of time and wedding details are enough to make one go crazy, thanks to numerous great people around me (and in cyberspace), I kept my sanity (at least that’s what I think. hehehe).

Speaking of great people and new found friends, we met Sir Alex and Ms. Michelle earlier today as part of our Saturday itinerary (and various meetings, including the last bridal fair that we attended before the wedding. Read more about it here). They are the husband and wife tandem behind the heavenly yet sinfully tasteful Belgian chocolates, better known as Sophia’s Chocolat. We have received our order and we can only thank them for making beautifully packaged chocolate goodies for us and our guests. BUT let me hold my horses as this post is about an awesome early wedding gift that we received today...

Wedding Checklist: PS Gifts

Dear Online Diary,

We have found our principal sponsors gifts!

Just like most couples, we want to give them something that will remind them of our wedding (sans frames and figurines and the likes) but deciding what to give them was one of the hardest things we had to do. H2B suggested giving them practical items good for everyday use but it won’t be as romantic and memorable as I want it to be.

The solution: we’re going to give them two gifts – edible and non-edible.

We’ve searched the web for as long as I can remember when I found the page of Sophia’s Chocolat. Their bridal car design is too irresistible. It’s unique, plus, they do have elegant boxes of delicious Belgian chocolates. After browsing through their product photos, I sent an inquiry via email. Surprisingly, Sir Alex sent a reply with precise answers to my questions later that day. He suggested to set an appointment in order to see the actual products and, get this, taste test the chocolates.

Earlier today, H2B and I met the people behind Sophia’s Chocolat, the husband-and-wife tandem of Sir Alex and Ms. Michelle. They presented their chocolate products with flare. Seriously, every single item that they showed us is amazingly elegant and presentable, even the item which costs Php45.00. They also let us taste the chocolates. H2B and I think it’s delicious and creamy. It's not too sweet nor bitter. It's just right.

I like that they aren’t hard sellers. They know how to start a good conversation. They even shared some of their wedding preparation experiences (yes, including stressful moments with suppliers) and they understand what we are going through.

I like how Sophia’s Chocolat started so let me share a bit of what Sir Alex shared with us. If I remembered correctly, in 2004 when Ms. Michelle was pregnant with their first child, she had to stay at home and leave her day job. Overtime, she got bored with nothing much to do. That’s when she and Sir Alex decided to make chocolate treats for friends and relatives. They received good feedbacks until they got orders from clients via referrals. Since then, they’ve been making sweet treats for happy and satisfied clients. Sweet, isn’t it?

... And yes, we ordered a couple of chocolate boxes and items for our sponsors and entourage. It’s a great gift to spread the sweetness of our marriage. Afterall, everybody loves (special Belgian) chocolates. :))

We adore them because:
- They are a husband-and-wife tandem. They are partners. They instantly became my inspiration of what I want us (H2B and I) to be in the future.
- They are not hard sellers. They let their products speak for themselves.
- The chocolate that they are using is of highest quality BUT their product is really affordable (I mean REALLY affordable).
- I like the packaging of their products (especially the bridal car – it’s solid chocolate). Although their signature boxes are limited to only two colors (red and black) and it doesn’t match our motif, we decided to order (number of orders goes here). What’s important is the gift itself. We can always do something about the boxes (since we’re going to receive the chocolates 2-3 days before the wedding).
- They have a variety of designs (or molds) to choose from.
- They gave us a good first impression (you know how first impressions last).
- They are generous. They let us bring home a box of chocolates :))
