The Wedding Blog for the style Obsessed Bride

Guest Post: Freeze Frame

Congratulations 2010 brides and grooms! You stand on the crest of a new adventure, a new chapter in your life.  By now you know just how many details there are to think about, to plan, to make your special day special. The right flowers, the right song, the right invitations, the right napkins... the right thank-you gifts for your parents,  and the bridal party.

The wedding, the entire day, is about you,  but HOW will you thank the most important people in your life, the people who helped get you to your special day?  How will you express your gratitude and appreciation to them?

Customized photo books that YOU create can be a personal and meaningful way to show your thanks.

Custom Photo Books for the Bridal Party
There are a few ways in which you can create customized photo books for your attendants.

One idea is to create a photo book using pictures of you and your attendants over the years.  You can devote specific pages to each of your attendants as well as devote specific pages to any showers or parties you may have had.  You can personalize this book for each attendant by leaving a blank area in which to write a personal note of thanks.  This photo book could be suitable for everyone in your bridal party. This book allows you to share the same story with your attendants while also allowing for a personal note for each.

Another idea is to create a common section of your photo book: pictures chronicling bridal showers, parties, dress shopping, etc. in which you all participated. You can then add  specific pages in the front of the book devoted to one attendant.  You can leave a blank area for a special hand-written note, or you can add a typed note to any page you choose.

Another idea is to create entirely different photo books for each attendant.

Custom Photo Books for Your Parents
Want to make your parents cry?  Create a customized photo book for your parents.  This will require a little secret work on your part but the end result will be worth all of your effort.  Hopefully you have a picture or two of you at different ages  with each parent.  If you still have hand made cards or notes from elementary school, scan them and add them to your book.  Add narration throughout recalling special times you had with each parent.  A little more planning and you can ask your photographer to take a few candid shots of you with your parents on your special day.  Add a special picture from your honeymoon, perhaps with a special “thank-you” sign that you prepare in advance.  Leave a blank area or page for a customized hand-written note.  Present this gift when you return.

Average cost per photo book is under $30.00

And don't forget to share your photo book with friends and family.  This online photo book link makes it easy to share your big day with those you love.

Custom Photo Gifts for All of Your Guests
A nice gift for your guests might include a wallet-sized card that has a picture of you and your new spouse on one side and your contact information on the back side.  Wallet-sized cards can be ordered in sets of 25.  If you are able to have two different wallet-sized cards for each guest, you could frame one card and have the other card loose on the tables.  Frames can be ordered in bulk bringing the total cost down to $2.00 per framed card.  Book marks make nice gifts for guests, too.  A picture on one side and your contact information on the back side.
