Recap: Reception

This is going to be the longest of the recaps, so grab a comfy seat and get ready.

After the ceremony, we went and took professional pictures while all our guests were at the cocktail hour.  We rocked it out and were actually done pretty quickly so we snuck into the reception site to see what the coordinators had done.  The place was absolutely gorgeous.

After we were done looking at the reception hall, we snuck out the back door and got our bridal party lined up for the entrance.  The bridal party entered to Kernkraft 400 and we entered to the FSU warchant.  I didn't realize how many Seminoles we had in the crowd until that song came on and everyone started doing the chop.  It was seriously awesome!

After the entrance, they opened up the buffet.  The food and the presentation was so amazing.  They set up the salad on a plate and then put the add-ins in little bowls so you could add what you wanted to your salad.  They also had a couple types of dressing so you could pick which one you wanted.  Then, the put the pasta and all the side dishes in roll-top chafing dishes.  Then, they had a waiter manning the carving station, which looked so chic.  The food was so yummy.  We each scarfed it down so quickly.

After we finished eating, we started doing table visits so that we could greet all our guests.  When we got to the second table, we got interrupted by one of our guests who said we had to come to the bathroom.  When we got there, they had a computer set up with skype talking to Jason's best friend.  His best friend teaches in Japan and wasn't able to come over for the wedding.  He got all dressed up at like 6 in the morning to get on skype and "come" to our wedding.  It was the most awesome thing and I know it made Jason really happy.

After we were done chatting with Matt, we went off to finish all of our table visits.  I think this is a great alternative to a receiving line.  It allows you to great all your guests, while they're comfortable seated at their table.  We also had our photographer follow us around, so she could get a picture of us with each table.  That way, we have a picture with every guest.

When the table visits were over, we did our first dance.  It was good, except for the CD that DJ was using was skipping the entire time.  Jason decided to improvise with some twirls and then a dip at the end.  It was very romantic.

After the first dance was over, we broke into dancing for about an hour.  Everyone was up and ready to party.  After dancing a bit, we then went into the toasts, cake cutting, and then garter and bouquet tosses.

After the tosses were over, we proceeded to go back to dancing and we had a blast!

Well, that's the end of my recaps.  I hope you enjoyed them!  Don't worry, I'll be posting more non-pro pictures in the upcoming weeks, as well as a breakdown of my budget.

Also, as soon as I get the professional pictures back, they will be up here!
