This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of St Augustine, Ponte Vedra & The Beaches, Florida. All opinions are 100% mine.

St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and the Beaches is a great place to take a honeymoon if you're wanting to stay in the states.  It will help save money and you'll have a wonderful relaxing vacation with some culture.

In St. Augustine, brick streets lead to historic churches, living history museums, antiques stores, charming restaurants and B&Bs, and shops. A centuries-old fort stands guard, horse-drawn carriages clip-clop through the historic district, and ghost tours show you the area’s secrets.

We don't live far from St. Augustine, but we've never been there before.  I've always wanted to go because I've heard how gorgeous it is.  Everyone says the history there is like nothing you've ever seen before.

I put together a sample itinerary on what you could do if you went to St. Johns County on your honeymoon.

Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is a quaint little inn, with only 9 bedrooms.  It's located an 1800s Victorian style house in the heart of St. Augustine.  Rates start as low as $99 and include a full breakfast and complimentary beverages.  Beach style bicycles are also available for your use, so you can take a nice ride down the oceanfront.  In August, they offer "sweetheart specials".  If you book a three night stay, your third night is free!  That would be perfect for a short weekend getaway.

I would recommend starting your itinerary off with a look at some historical sites in St. Augustine.  First, you can head over to Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.  You can even drink from the well that is believed to have special qualities.

After you're done there,  you can tour through the historic district of Old St. Augustine Village.  Seven of the village's homes were built in the 1800s and early 1900s.  The Prince Murat House was built in 1790 and is one of the oldest colonial buildings in the area.

After night fall, you can board "The Trolley of the Doomed" for a Ghosts and Graveyards Tour.  One of the cemeteries you visit was a Christian Indian village during the first Spanish period and later turned into a graveyard when the Spanish reclaimed St. Augustine.

For beach lovers, I would recommend going to St. Augustine Beach.  You can start your morning off eating at the World Famous Oasis Deck and Restaurant while watching the sun rise over the ocean.  Then, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach, where they have picnic shelters, restrooms, volleyball, and concessions.   You can take a romantic picnic lunch out there and enjoy a relaxing day on the beach.

On your last day, I recommend just checking out a few things around the city.  Flagler College was built out of the Ponce de Leon Hotel and has a fountain that is a reproduction of the hilt of Ponce de Leon's sword.  You can also check out The Old Jail which was built by the same makers as Alcatraz.

Before you leave St. Augustine, you have to go visit The Love Tree.  It is a palm tree that grew through the trunk of an oak tree.  Legend says that a couple who kisses underneath the tree will seal their love for eternity.  The perfect ending to a perfectly budget friendly honeymoon.
