{Wedding Trends} : Hanging Wedding Decor

Talk about making a statement from floor to ceiling… While a ceiling may not be the first thing in your wedding décor list, it presents a unique blank canvas for you to transform. Like the rest of your venue it can be customized to suit your wedding. Hanging decorations can add light or simply be that perfect addition to create the ambiance you are hoping for.
This idea applies flawlessly to outdoor weddings, when it comes to decorating the gazebo, tent, or even just overhanging branches.
In the other hand, some indoor venues will be perfect for hanging decorations without requiring even the slightest change, and some may require an extra touch of creativity.
What you can do with a ceiling greatly depends on where your wedding is being held. Get some inspiration from the following gallery!
Dazzling chandeliers not only add a fantastic fairytale feel but often help contribute to the lighting mood of the event! (image via Everything is Better in Heels)
Build a ribbon canopy or simply hang ribbons from the celling to add a splash of color and whimsy (sources: image 1, image 2 and 3)
Round paper lanterns are an extremely popular option as hanging decor, not only because they are simple to set up but because they can also be used to supply additional light. (resources: first photo, second photo)
You can bit the feeling of romantic candle light, container ideas are as limited as your imagination: Moroccan lantern, tent lanterns, candles ganging from the treeChloe parfume bottlesrustic lanterns...

Are you going for the vintage look? Consider mason jars and antique birdcages hanging from the trees. (Image credits: one, twothree and four)

Also, decorations don’t have to hang from the entire ceiling – hanging centerpieces are also a very unique idea. These would be suspended from the ceiling and would end above eye level when sitting, to avoid hindering conversation (sources: image 1image 2 and image 3)

If you are planning on hanging decorations from the ceiling, try staggering how far down the decorations are set up! If they are all the same distance from the ceiling it may end up looking too uniform. Hanging centerpieces look best when you create a focal point of one object repeated throughout the space.
