Save-the-Dates have become popular in the wedding world, with a lot of couples waiting longer between their engagement and their wedding.
Save-the-Dates can be a great asset to a wedding, but also a great hindrance. It's nice to be able to let guests know ahead of time so they can plan for your wedding, but you have to make sure your guest list is set in stone before you send them out.
Here are some pros and cons of sending out save-the-dates:
Pro: Notify guests in advance of the date of your wedding
Pro: Great use for your engagement pictures
Pro: Your guest list is set in advance, so you can better plan your budget
Con: The extra cost of the printing and postage
Con: If you send a save-the-date to someone, you are required to send that person an invite, so you have to have your guest list set in stone way before your wedding.
As a guest, I love getting save-the-dates. That way I can plan ahead and save up the money I need to travel to your wedding.
If you're planning on sending out save-the-dates, you should send them out at least 6 months before your wedding, but you can send them out as far as a year in advance.
Are you planning on sending out save-the-dates for your wedding?
