Close your eyes and imagine a fabulous, romantic summer barn fĂȘte. Imagine a gorgeous Mason jar chandelier as the focal point of the dance floor adorned with white drapery cascading from the ceiling to floor. Imagine the natural beauty of the barn’s wood walls, complemented by gold framed mirrors that center the candle filled table where the newly Mr. & Mrs. will enjoy their first moments as husband and wife. We too, tried imagining a stunning rustic, meets elegant, meets vintage chic, with a twist of a whole lot of fun, wedding, but we couldn’t quite imagine it to the stature of Ashley & Scott’s Dana-Powers Barn nuptials, which are spectacular by the way! What we love most about these breathtaking nuptials are the fun infused personal touches, from the groom’s socks, bridesmaid’s ombre dress color palate, Mason jar chandelier, uber cute welcome table, to the bride + groom chairs. These barnyard cuties know a thing or two about personal flair.
But, lucky for us, our imagination does not have to go very far to see what this remarkable wedding would look like, through the lens of the very talented photographer, Sarah Kathleen, we can be mesmerized by every swoon-worthy moment captured.
From the bride... "The Dana-Powers Barn has this perceptible feeling of perfection and awe. Because it houses so much of this obvious beauty, I wanted to expand on it and bring in my own personality and likes. Although I wanted my wedding to be fun, simple and carefree, I also wanted it to feel romantic and elegant. That's what inspired me to use light, blush-like colors with pops of coral and seafoam; summery, romantic colors. Using light, airy fabrics were also a way to enhance those feelings.
My favorite and most memorable moment of my wedding day was during the ceremony when our pastor spoke to each one of our parents. Thanking our moms and dads and reminicing on special moments of our childhood brought them joy and lots and lots of tears. It was very important for Scott and I to thank them for being amazing parents over the years. This is a moment of the wedding that will always be dear to our hearts. I also really enjoyed the moments we shared with our guests. Talking to everyone and being able to thank them all for coming was very important to Scott and I, and I really wish we had all the time in the world to spend with each guest. They were the ones we worked so hard for.
Just remember that something unexpected will always happen. But you'll be the only one to notice. And if something does go wrong, just go along and make the best of it. Also remember to not give your fiance too much grief for not "participating in the wedding planning." It's definitely a big deal for them, but a much bigger aesthetic deal to us girls, and we can't blame the guys for not being interested in the details. They just want the marriage; the wedding isn't what they dreamed about as kids."
